A fun STEM quest for students aged 10-12! This is a device-free challenge where students become scientists on a mission to crack codes, solve puzzles and complete hands-on STEM challenges to unlock the secret lab!
This quest includes 4 puzzles/challenges for students, each one focusing on an important collaboration skill while making learning feel like an adventure.
Each puzzle is detailed in the Teacher’s Guide, here’s a quick summary:
Puzzle 1: The Blueprint Pieces. Focus: information sharing.
Puzzle 2: Tower of Teamwork. Focus: joint planning and decision making (hands-on task, requires paper, icy-pole sticks and tape)
Puzzle 3: Align the Pods. Focus: active listening and clear communication (hands-0n task, requires paper cups)
Puzzle 3: The Fizz Files. Focus: group discussion and sharing knowledge.
What’s included:
- Teacher’s Guide – with preparation suggestions (minimal), detailed instructions and answers to puzzles.
- Student Instructions – detailed enough for teams to complete the quest independently
- Puzzle 1 and Puzzle 4 cards – to be printed for teams to use.
