Space Themed Design Thinking Challenge
The focus of this STEM Challenge is to get students making considered design choices based on a set of criteria, and being able to justify these choices. All while learning about planet features!
Students learn about the surface features of the planets using the posters provided, then plan and make a prototype spacecraft for exploring one specific planet. They justify their design choices.
Using only every-day, recycled materials, this STEM Challenge is low-prep and engaging. It provides a great opportunity for students to practise their communication and collaboration skills.

- Planet Posters x7, each highlighting interesting facts about that planet and information about the planet’s surface for students to factor into their design.
