Description
Guess the Animal! Animal Adaptations Guessing Games
What’s Included
Seven fully designed, print-free PowerPoint games, each built around a different biome:
- Rainforest
- Tundra
- Desert
- Ocean
- Grasslands
- Temperate Forest
- Freshwater
That’s 42 animals, each with lots of adaptations listed and described.
How It Works
Each game follows the same simple three-step format, so once your class learns it, every biome plays itself:
- Listen to the clues. Three short, kid-friendly clues describe a real animal’s stand-out feature (no name given yet).
- Make a guess. Students talk it through with a partner: which animal is it, and what do they think the feature is for?
- See the reveal. A bold reveal slide names the animal and explains exactly how that feature helps it survive in its biome, turning every guess into a genuine “aha.”
Every game opens with a title slide and a How to Play page, and closes with a wrap-up slide that bridges straight into your students’ own work: designing and labelling their own imaginary animal.
Why it’s Great
- Genuinely no-prep. No cutting, laminating, or printing. Open the file and go.
- Curriculum-accurate. Every clue and reveal is built on real animal science, not guesswork.
- Built for Years 2-5 (about ages 7+). Short clues, plain language, and a game format young learners can run independently after one demo.
- Fully editable. tEach game comes in both static (pdf) and editable (.pptx) formats. Swap an animal, tweak a clue, or restyle a slide in seconds.
- Reusable all year. Perfect for a biomes unit, a fast finisher activity, a relief-teacher lesson, or a term-long adaptations project.
